Wings & Wildflowers
Wynn loved flowers because her dad did. I’d be working on my computer, and she would come inside after being outdoors with her dad, running up to me with a little bouquet of wildflowers (or weeds) from the garden. She’d hand them to me and whisper, “I have a secret.”
I’d laugh and reply, “What is it?”
And then she’d shout, “I LOVE YOU!” Her dad taught her that one, too.
She also loved birds because her Papa did. They’d go outside and call for the birds together. Wynn eventually had ducks and chickens of her own, and they’d follow her around like she was their momma. They knew she was someone they could trust—or maybe she was just that magnetic. One of the first times I ever saw her run was down our driveway toward the mailbox, with two little ducklings in tow. If our brains had a screensaver, that image would be mine.
That exact moment in time is where the logo for my studio comes from. I love you, my girl.
